I presented "A Writing Life," an evening of selected readings from my published and non-published fiction and non-fiction stories and books, followed by discussion, to a great crowd at Abe's, 302 Wickenden Street, Providence, on Jan. 20, 2010.

A second piece for DocumentaryTech on Dec. 13, 2009.

I wrote a piece about narrative storytelling on the page and on the screen for DocumentaryTech, a web site devoted to "exploring the technoques and technology of documentary filmmaking, Sept. 25, 2009.

The Providence Phoenix published a story about A VERY DIFFERENT SENATOR, the biography of Claiborne Pell, in its issue of Sept. 24, 2009.

On Aug. 6, 2009, at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, I began a series of appearances for discussion and screenings of the trailer to Eagle Peak Media's second documentary, BEHIND THE HEDGEROW: Eileen Slocum and the Meaning of Newport, click here for details of past and future appearances.

Following my participation on a discussion panel at the 2009 Roving Eye Documentary Film Festival, held in April 2009 at Roger Williams University, a Roger Williams student wrote an insightful story about me and my work.

Beginning on Feb. 13, 2009, I appeared at the world premiere and later showings of my first feature-length documentary movie, ON THE LAKE: Life and Love in a Distant Place.

I appeared in Harrisville, Rhode Island, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008, to show the OTL trailer at the opening event of the outdoor summer series Riverwalk Times.

A discussion of the new Jesse Smith Library, whose board I chaired, aired the week of May 18, 2008, on L-TV, Rhode Island's Library TV channel.

The first event for my last book, THE XENO CHRONICLES, was in Seattle, Washington, on May 23, 2005, at The Town Hall Science Lecture Series, details at the lecture series site.
